Takaoka Cherry Blossom Festival

A festival to pray for the prosperity of Takaoka Copper, with the virtue of the second head of the Kaga Maeda family, Toshinaga Maeda. Born in Kanaya-cho as a work song for the construction of castings, the town flows along with the brave "Yagaefu", which has been around for about 400 years. In 2015, the story of "Townsman Culture", which consists of 37 tangible intangible cultural objects, including the Ojin Festival, was certified as a Japanese Heritage Site.

A magnificent festival held during the spring festival of Fushiki Shrine, also known as "Kenkayam." During the day, it features flower floats, and at night, it transforms into lantern floats. Six floats sway their lanterns vigorously to the rhythm of the Yamaga-style drum music, engaging in clashes known as "kaccha." The daytime event starts at 9 AM, while the nighttime event begins at 6 PM and runs until midnight. It is said to be the beginning of the Takaoka Mikakusan Festival, which was granted to the townspeople of Takaoka by the second head of the Kaga Maeda family, Toshinaga Maeda, on the occasion of building Takaoka Castle. Seven ornate Mt. Mikukayama leaves near the Sakashita-cho intersection and cruises the Yamamachi area. The highlight is the place where seven floats are set up at the Katahara-cho intersection at 12.
