Five Shrine Festival

The former Towa Village is now the pioneer of the Koinobori event that has spread nationwide. The number of koinobori, which was about 50 at the beginning of 1974, has also increased to about 500, and they swim in a clear river style in a mountain village where the Shimanto River famous settlement bridge remains. The paper's koinobori, which is made of a special paper "non-woven fabric" and colored in its own way, swims on the river surface of the clear stream Niyodo River (the first-class national river water quality ranking for the fiscal year 2012-30). The event, which began in 1995, has also been booming year by year, and in 2000, the event was awarded the "4th Hometown Event Grand Prize Commendation of the Minister of Self-Government". It is a re-creation of the procession that had been descending to the land of Nakamura in the second year of Onin (1468), in order to escape the war of the Onin Rebellion and restore the lost family territory.
