Fire crossing in Mie-in

The Oze Mountain Opening Ceremony is held annually in a rotating manner among Gunma, Fukushima, and Niigata Prefectures, with Katashina Village in Gunma Prefecture in charge for 2026. Safety prayers and a ribbon-cutting ceremony will be conducted.

The flower festival is held from March 20 to May 11. In Ansei 2 (1855), the Anchu feudal lord, Katsuaki Itakura, ran a little over seven miles of Nakasendo from Annaka Castle to Kumano Gontoshi at Usui Pass for the purpose of the master's physical and physical training of the clan, and allowed them to record their arrival order.
