Plum Festival

On October 15, the first year of Hirohiro (1004), Emperor Ichijo's royal envoy was sent to the Hofu to perform the Imperial Mission (a celebration to comfort the spirit), and for the first time the "innocent sin" from the emperor was launched.. It is a grand festival where about five thousand naked-bō people draw Miyoyo, Kamikoshi and travel to the fringed Katsama-no-Ura in order to convey the "Innocent News" every year and to comfort your heart.

Hofu Tenmangu Shrine, dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane, the god of learning. The Birthday Festival celebrates the birth of Sugawara no Michizane, who was born on August 5, 845 (lunar calendar June 25). Various events such as tea ceremonies, judo and kendo tournaments, traditional music, and karaoke concerts are held every year from August 3 to 5. The approximately 2,000 lanterns of the Mantō Festival, held over the three days, create a charming atmosphere, and the collaboration of about 4,000 fireworks launched on the night of the final day, August 5, presents an emotional scene worthy of the festival's climax.

At the Amida-ji Temple, known as the Hydrangea Temple, you can appreciate 80 kinds of flowers, including 4000 strains of Hydrangea, summer camellia, potato tsutjiki, taisanbok, water lily, and semi-summer flowers, which also sell seedlings.
