City Overview
Mito, which is related to the Shogun and the Tokugawa family, is home to the Mito Kōmon and Kairakuen, one of Japan's three best gardens, and it is crowded as the prefectural capital of Ibaraki Prefecture. In addition, there are many other historic towns, such as the cobblestone castle town of Furukawa, which flourished as the castle town of Tokugawa Morodaimyō during the Edo period, and the town of Suigo, Itako.
