From Shin-Osaka Station to Tsuruga Station on the JR Tōkaidō Main Line (JR Kyoto Line), Kosai Line and Hokuriku Main Line Limited "Thunderbird", about 1 hour 16 minutes to 1 hour 23 minutes. Transfers to the JR Hokuriku Shinkansen "Hakutaka", "Kagayaki" and "Tsurugi" at Tsuruga Station, about 1 hour 2 minutes to 1 hour 23 minutes to Toyama Station. About 3 hours in total. The Japan Rail Pass requires an additional fee when using other than Grand Class and ordinary cars.
