Tottori

City Overview

Tottori, the prefectural capital developed as a castle town of the Ikeda Domain. The undulating Tottori Sand Dunes, one of the largest in Japan, has a beautiful "wind print" that flutters in the sea breeze, and Oyama, which has the name "Hokifuji", is one of the prefecture's best natural heritage along with the Tottori Sand Dunes. It is also gaining popularity as a place where you can enjoy outdoor leisure such as paragliding and kayaking. On the middle side is the Daizan-ji Temple, which flourished as a training dojo for Shugendō, which respects the mountain religion. Kurayoshi, whose town is rich in emotional and red tiles, is also attractive.
