Kagoshima
Kagoshima
City Overview
On the Satsuma Peninsula, there are beautiful views of Mount Kaigun, also known as Satsuma Fuji, and Lake Ikeda, the largest caldera lake in Kyushu. You can also enjoy walking around Kagoshima Town with views of Sakurajima Island, the symbol of the city. You can enjoy dolphin watching and ferry boarding in Jize Bay. I recommend the sand-steamed hot springs in Ibusuki. Yakushima, a world heritage site, is home to many natural scenic spots such as Jōmon cedar and Kōgen cedar, Wilson stock and Okawa Falls, and Chihiro Falls, as well as islands such as Amami Ōshima, which is full of mangroves.
