"Okinawa World" is the largest theme park in Okinawa Prefecture based on the concept of nature, history and culture of Okinawa! It is about 30 minutes by car from Naha Airport. When you buy a ticket, first go to "Gyokusen-do"! Gyokusen-do is one of the largest in the country with a total length of about 5km and a number of stalactites of about 1 million or more. There are many places to see in the cave, such as "Toyo-ichi-do", which boasts the size of the main temple of Shuri Castle, and "Ao no Izumi", which is beautiful in blue and shining groundwater. Next for "Gyokusen-do" is to "Nettai Fruits-en"! The guide will give you a commentary on the type of fruit that is growing. About 50 varieties and 450 tropical fruit trees are cultivated in the tropical fruit garden, and you can see not only the familiar mango and pineapple, but also rare fruits such as jabotchicaba depending on the season. At the fruit parlor in the park, there are tropical fruit juices and sweets, which is perfect for taking a breather!
The next visit was "Ryukyu Okoku Jokamachi". This area is lined with old houses of red tiles, and you can feel the nostalgia as if you had slipped back in time to the time of the Ryukyu Kingdom. Four old private houses and one Fool (toilet site), which were relocated from all over Okinawa, including the former Kyan family residence, are very valuable structures that have also been certified as a national registered tangible cultural property.

"Super Eisa Show" and "Habu and Mongoose Show," which are in an all-weather show venue, are Okinawa World's unmissable programs. Eisa is a Nenbutsu dance that sends its ancestors to the world on the last day of the Kyu-Bon (July 15 in the lunar calendar) and is performed in each of the settlements in Okinawa. "Habu Hakubutsu Koen" was established more than 40 years ago with the desire to reduce the damage to the habu in Okinawa. The number and content of exhibits related to the Habu are diverse, and the scale is the world's largest. It is a valuable facility that has become the setting for an international conference on viper! Habitat of the Habu and skeletal specimens of the world's longest class hub are displayed in the hall, and there are plenty of highlights. In addition, outdoors, we breed various hubs such as Sakishima Habu,Nhon Habu, and python, turtle, etc. There is also an open exhibition where you can see snakes etc. up close!
I 've seen the highlights of the park, but speaking of a theme park, I'm worried about gourmet and souvenirs. Okinawa World has a variety of dining establishments and cafes, including Okinawan soba specialty shops, Bukubuku Chaya, and local beer restaurant. Bukubuku Cha, a traditional tea that has been familiar since the time of the Ryukyu Kingdom. As the name suggests, it is characterized by foam served like soft ice cream. Even so, it has an impact on the appearance. It is offered for 600 yen (with Ryukyu confectionery) at "Bukubuku Chaya" in Ryukyu Oukoku Jokamachi.
At the "Okinawa Soba Jiman Nanto-ya" on the second floor adjacent to the show venue, 1200 yen with "Honsoki Soba Tanpin Kobachi tsuki" with large pork Abara meat is particularly popular. Not only the volume, but also the soup with bonito dashi is unique to Okinawa soba specialty stores!
There are many flavors such as Blue with Ishigaki salt, Kokuto and Beniimo, pink with mango, hibiscus and coconut flavors, and yellow with oat, pineapple and mango flavors (675 yen each). You can also tour the state of manufacturing in the specialty souvenir shopping street!
"Nanto Shuzo", which makes and sells habu liquor, liqueurs, etc. OKINAWA SANGO BEER is attracting attention here. Brewed using water pumped from 100m underground in the mineral-rich Gyokusen-do, It has also won a global beer contest for its flavorful craft beer. There are four types: saison, IPA, kölsch and passion fruit, with limited beer also coming up depending on the time of year. In addition, you can enjoy freshly brewed beer (610 yen ~) at "Ji-Beer Kissa SANGO" in Nanto Shuzo.
"Okinawa Soba Jiman Nanto-ya" is a new release of tsukudani! 500 yen each of the three types of Asa, Ao-papaya and Mozuku, all of which are free from animal-derived ingredients and chemical condiments.
This is a souvenir unique to the Habu Hakubutsu Koen. This is a talisman using snake skin, one of which has different patterns, such as python skin (530 yen), white snake skin (1300 yen), and hub skin (830 yen). Find your favorite and rise!
