The number of sources is 2847. This figure is equivalent to about one-tenth of the number of sources in Japan. It is amazing because of the fact that there are about 3000 hot springs in Japan, one hot spring resort accounts for this much proportion. Of course, it ranks first in Japan.

The total amount of hot springs in Beppu City is 102,671 kg per minute *. and even if you hear it, you can't really feel it, but you should know how amazing it is to meet the 751 TP3T of Tokyo Dome in one minute. It ranks second globally.

Shibaishi Onsen

It is the smallest hot spring resort in Hachiyu, Beppu, where there are only two stops and two places each. It is said that the history is old and that Emperor Daigo visited Yuji in Kanpei 7 (895) and Emperor Go Reisen visited Yuji in Nagehisa 5 (1044).

A historic hot spring resort whose name was also noted in the Edo period "Toyokuni Noriyuki", and there are also many hospitals and nursing centers that make use of hot springs.

Hotta Onsen

A place that has flourished as a Yujiba since the Edo period, as it has been a transportation hub leading to Yufuin and Hita since ancient times. There are municipal hot springs and a nekiri hot spring near Beppu IC. There are also hot springs in Anaiba, which are full of a sense of hiyu.

Beppu Onsen

A hot spring resort that represents Beppu. It is a dense area of communal baths where you can enjoy bathing fees for 100-300 yen, with narrow alleyways running across and across the streets.

Kankai-ji Onsen

It is a hot spring resort that extends on the slopes of the mountains in the upper reaches of the Asami River, and features a view that can be seen up to Beppu Bay. It has flourished as a Yujiba after Kamakura, and is now a resort hot spring area with modern hotels.

Hamawaki Onsen

A historic hot spring resort that is said to have been named because hot springs were sprung up on a sandy beach. It flourished as a flower district in the Meiji-Taisho era, but now it does not form a hot spring town and only has a communal bathhouse.
