The natural spring volume of Kusatsu Onsen is about 32,300 m2 per minute, Japan's best! Before you enjoy bathing at an inn, you first study the "Yumomi" culture that continues from the Edo period. The source of Kusatsu Onsen is almost 50 degrees, and it is not possible to take a bath as it is. Adding water to lower the temperature diminishes the efficacy of the hot springs. There, the "Yumomi" was conceived during the Edo period. "Yumomi" is a method of putting a plate of about 180 cm in a hot source to stir the hot water and lower the temperature until you can take a bath. In the "Netsunoyu", which is located in front of the town of Yohata, Yumomi is shown as a show, and the tradition is conveyed to the present day.
The Taishō-roman-style building in front of the Yuhata field is "Netsunoyu". There is a daily "Yumomi and dance show" here, which is full of tourists. The "Yumomi Show" was first performed in 1960! Let's take a little peek at a show with a tradition.
There is a tourist information center on the first floor of the building, so check the opening time and price of the show here. We perform six times a day, so we buy tickets for your time (sold 30 minutes before each performance). It takes about 20 minutes.
The first and second floors have seats surrounding the bathtub in the center, and the interior is an open-ceilinged structure. After the opening movie plays, three women appear on stage and perform an elegant dance to the Kusatsu folk song "Kusatsu is a great place to come at least once."
When the dance is over, the talk time. The host calls to the audience, such as "How many times is Kusatsu?", and the venue is enlivened with light talk.
Demonstration of "yumomi" finally began with Kusatsu-bushi. Using a large board that is about 180cm long, rhythmically stir the hot springs according to the song. A light-hearted Kusatsu Yumomi song then flows to begin "Dance and Yumomi", and the climax is accompanied by a lively splash of water.
The second floor seat is a special seat where you can see the bath boat. You can see the whole scene of the splash.
The tourist information center sells original towels, so please make a commemoration. Towels with the silhouettes of Kusatsu Ondo and Yumomi Musume are 250 yen each. This is also useful for visiting the neighborhood.

At Osayu on Kawara Street in the west, what a world first! It performs the "Yumomi Show" by the monkey. How about today's hot water? A master who puts his hands in the hot water. Because Kusatsu's hot water is hot, you can't take a bath as it is. "Rai-chan" who saw it, let the water cool in the shower to cool the temperature of the hot water, or bring out a fan or a great struggle. The audience is laughing at the humorous move.
Rai-chan said, "Oh, that's what it is.♪", And the" Yumomi "started; using the Yumomi board well to match the Kusatsu Ondo, like the real Yumomi.
The Yumomi show ends with the hagle of "It's good to go ~" after the show, it's long-awaited shooting time; the master who entered the yūfune puts a towel on his head and meditates with "good yu dana ~".
On the second floor, in the "kapayu", small animals are waiting. In the stone bath, the capybara is beaten by the hot springs. If you can see the bathing scene, you will be very lucky!
