Enjoy the spectacular view of Sakurajima from Yunohira Observatory
This is the highest observation point on the island that is accessible to the public, and offers the closest view of Kitadake, one of the mountains that make up Sakurajima. There are seven heart-shaped stones built into the surrounding stone walls.

Around Shiroyama in the footsteps of Saigo Don
Shiroyama is the battlefield of the Seinan War, where Saigo Takamori met his end. It is also the site of Kagoshima Castle, which was the residence of the lord of the Satsuma domain, and is dotted with historical spots.
