

Tōshun-ji Temple is the family temple of Mōri Motonari and also played a key role during the Meiji Restoration as a base for the Kiheitai militia and a temporary residence for Mōri Takachika. On guided tours led by the head priest, visitors can see the temple’s historic features, including the Important Cultural Property-designated main gate and Kannon Hall, as well as the grave of Kaoru Inoue and sword marks left by the Kiheitai. Zazen (seated meditation) experiences are also available.
