The steam locomotive SL Yamaguchi connections Shin-Yamaguchi Station to Tsuwano Station in about two hours.
A trip on a steam locomotive running through rush mountains and countryside while belching white smoke is a nostalgic experience that can only be had in Yamaguchi.
The areas around stops along the way are full of attractions such as Yuda Onsen, which is a well-known hot spring resort area, and Chomonkyo Gorge, a place of scenic beauty.
Note: In 2021, the train will be pulled by a diesel locomotive, the DL Yamaguchi, because the steam locomotive is being repaired.
