Route 12, which connects the cities of Sapporo and Asahikawa. Among them, 29.2km from Mitsunai-cho, Mitai-shi to Shinmachi, Takigawa-shi is the number one straight road in Japan. In 1886, the construction of the "Kamikawa Road" from Mikasa-shi to Asahikawa-shi began, and a 2m wide road was temporarily opened by a prisoner of the present Tsukigata-cho's Khido Shuji. In the double-life book of the construction at that time, "The main thing is to be a straight track," the longest road in Japan between Bibi-shi and Takigawa-shi was born.

An outdoor sculpture museum is currently being created by Bibai City and the world-renowned sculptor Kan Yasuda from the local area, on the site of a school at a closed coal mine. Contemporary sculptures harmonize deeply with the surrounding trees and clear streams, captivating visitors. Inside and outside the facility, there are over 40 works in marble and bronze, and the second floor of the wooden school building has been transformed into a gallery displaying sculptures in classrooms that retain the atmosphere of the time. The art space, renovated from the old gymnasium, hosts concerts, dance performances, and lectures.

Miyajima Swamp is a small swamp registered in the Ramsar Convention as a destination for magans and swans. Every spring (April to early May) and autumn (late September to early October), there are many migratory birds, and the number of Magan flies is up to 80,000. The Miyajima-Numa Water Bird and Wetlands Center is a base facility for nature observation such as bird watching, and also conducts various events.
