Noshiro Energy Park

Roadside station in Noshiro, known as the locality of Akita cedar. There is a restaurant and snack corner where you can enjoy menus that you can only taste here, a maternity goods sales corner with specialty and famous products from the northern part of the prefecture, a history and folk materials corner, and a kids corner where you can enjoy without worrying about the weather. In addition, there are dog runs, 3 × 3 basket courts, and canoe departures (closed in winter) in the river station area, which takes advantage of its location in contact with the Yonedai River.

Emperor Meiji, during his visit to Tohoku, was moved by its beauty and named it "Kimimachi-zaka." The park's symbol is the impressive Byobuiwa, a series of gigantic rocks. Visitors can enjoy the seasonal landscapes of cherry blossoms and autumn leaves. The majestic flow of the Yoshida River and the primeval forest of Nanzozan spread out below are also highlights. Known as a famous spot for cherry blossoms and azaleas, the "Sakura Festival" is held from April 18 to May 6, and the "Azalea Festival" takes place from May 7 to 31.

It is said that since the foundation of the first year of Bunroku (1592), only the shop owner has handed down the production method. The ingredients are glutinous rice and barley, and they are bouncy like a slightly sweet rice cake. Eighteen pieces of 830 yen are best for souvenirs.
