A stretch of Mt. Oshita at an altitude of 410m is the site of Miharu Castle. In the first year of Eishō (1504), it is said to have been built by the Sengoku daimyōda Yoshiaki [Yoshiaki]. During the Edo period, it became the residence of the Akita clan of the Miharu Domain, but the building was demolished after the Meiji Restoration. The Honmaru remains as a park. The front gate of the former Sanchun Domain Shinsho was relocated down the park, and is now used as the school gate of Sanchun Elementary School.

Using local miso and soy sauce, we sell various traditional Japanese sweets, including the famous Otari Manju. The Hanami Dango, available during the cherry blossom season, featuring two types of anko and soy sauce, is also very popular at 550 yen (excluding tax) and up.

Fleur Iwaseya, a Japanese and Western confectionery. A sakura sablé topped with pickled cherry blossoms is 100 yen each. It's crispy and a very delicious, cute treat. There are also many fun-named sweets like the famous Miharu Dappai for 140 yen each and the Jomon-yaki inspired by Jomon pottery for 110 yen each. They are not sold at the Takizakura shop.
