Take a Tour of a Retro Ribbon Factory

Maruoka Town in Sakai City is one of Japan’s major production areas for narrow-width textiles, defined as woven fabrics with a width of 10 cm or less.
Step inside a rare and valuable factory said to be the last in Japan capable of mass-producing Tyrolean ribbons. Here, you can closely observe traditional craftsmanship that supports the creation of beautifully detailed ribbon patterns, along with vintage wooden machines and well-worn looms rarely seen today.
