Black water spring

The small flat area like a terrace in front of Kurobedaira Station is the Kurobedaira Garden. On the east side, it overlooks Lake Kurobe, and holds back the Hōdate mountain peaks such as Akazawa-dake, Subari-dake and Onenogi-dake in their regal form. On the west side, the Tateyama Renfeng looms like a folding screen, and you can see a ropeway that ascends to be sucked in toward Taikan. There are benches and spring water in the square, which is good for commemorative photography and rest.

The rooftop observation deck at Taikan Peak, built to be strung on a steep slope of bedrock. Just as it is called the Cloudside Terrace, you can enjoy the best views of the Alpine Route, such as the Hoyate Mountains, Lake Kurobe, and Tambodaira. There are also wooden tables and chairs on the terrace, so you can relax slowly.

From Kurobe Dam Station, go up the 220 steps in the tunnel to get to the observation deck at an altitude of 1508m. From the observatory, the Kurobe Dam spreads under your eyes, and a male figure of Tateyama approaches the front. Just below the observation deck is a glass-walled rest area. If you go down the outdoor stairs from the observation deck, you will find the Kurobe Dam New Observation Square, where water discharge can be seen more closely, and you will be able to get out to the dam embankment via the Kurobe Dam Rest House.
