Sanjō no Uto

Tambayama Village spreads quietly along National Route 411, which runs from Okutama to Shioyama City, Yamanashi Prefecture. It is one of the facilities of "Roadside Station Tabayama", which is also the base for sightseeing in this quiet mountain village in the headwaters of the Tama River, and is a full-fledged hot spring facility. Stand across the suspension bridge over the Tama River from the roadside station parking lot. The lodge-style building uses plenty of wood, and the thick beams on the ceiling of the entrance of the stairwell are impressive. There are two places, the Japanese style, and the Western style, which is filled with hot water from the stone pillars in the middle of the bathhouse, and the men and women are replaced on a daily basis. Each has an open-air bath overlooking the surrounding mountains.

A fishing spot where rainbow trout fishing in mountain streams is available. It is built by damming a part of the clear stream of the Tamba River. There are various shapes of points and fishing moats in the large site, which both beginners and advanced people can enjoy. There is a barbecue place in the area, and it is possible to taste the fish caught on the spot. There is a river where you can play in the water, and you can also grab the trout from July to August.

The only road station on Route 411. Located in the mountains away from the city, it is attractive to be able to spend a relaxing time. At the facility's directly-sold agricultural products, there are a large array of dishes such as wild vegetables and wasabi, a specialty of Tambayama, as well as hand-made miso, konjac, and sausages from wild deer. There is a wide range of items that are perfect for souvenirs such as Koshu's specialty "Hoto" and prefectural wine. There is also a snack hall where you can taste soba noodles made from venison. The nearby one-day hot spring facility Tambayama hot spring "Nome Koiyu" is popular, and some tourists come from far away.
