Aoki Lake Campgrounds & Adventure Club

The Kanon stone Buddhas scattered along the Senkoku Highway on the west bank of Lake Aoki. It was carved by a stonemason from Takato in the late Edo period, and was built as a signpost by praying for the safety of travelers across the snowy Sanosaka. At present, a roadway runs through Sanosaka, but there is a statue of Guanyin standing at the base of the tree as far as Ebisma in Lake Aoki.

A beautiful lake with a heart-shaped shoreline. It has a circumference of 6.7 km and a surface elevation of 822 m. It is the largest of the three lakes in Nishina, with a depth of 58 m and high transparency. The lake reflects the three mountains of Hakuba, attracting tourists who enjoy SUP, canoeing, and camping, with summer firefly cruises and autumn foliage being particularly popular. Hiking along the historical salt paths, such as the Dōzaki Kannon on the west shore and the 33 Kannon of the Western Country on the northwest shore, is also enjoyable. On the east shore, there is a scenic café called "ao LAKESIDE CAFE," which has become a popular spot.

At the foot of the Northern Alps, the three lakes that are viewed from National Route 148 are collectively called "Nishina Sanko". From the south, they are connected by Lake Kizaki, Lake Nakatsōmon, and Lake Aoki by the Nuguggawa River. It is located at an elevation of around 800m, and the surrounding area is well-maintained in nature. In particular, Lake Aoki is known for its high degree of transparency. You can enjoy cycling, camping, water sports and fishing. Lake Kizaki can be seen from JR Inao Station and Uminoguchi Station.
