Tohodo Akiyoshidai

A large hall with a diameter of 200m and a width of 120m that spreads around the branch of the Kuroya branch from the main cave of Akiyoshi-dong. In a space that is said to have been born in a large cave that took place more than 10,000 years ago, huge rocks can still be seen. The ghost waterfall in one corner is a mysterious waterfall where the outside is fine but the water is flowing, and on the other hand, it is dry even though it is rainy.

A museum to learn about the nature and history of Akiyoshidai. Celebrating its 66th anniversary, its retro appearance is impressive, but the exhibition renewal is underway, and the information on the explanatory panels reflects cutting-edge achievements with profound and rich content. It introduces not only the scientific value of the white stones and underground spaces found in Akiyoshidai, along with the organisms living there, but also the history of how local people have utilized and protected various resources of Akiyoshidai since ancient times. It considers the objects and landscapes seen in the grasslands as exhibits, with 26 explanatory panels installed along the walking paths. Located just a few minutes' walk from the observation deck and the Geo Park Visitor Center (Karusuta), it is recommended to visit along with a tour of Akiyoshido.
