Yagiyama Kogen Flower Garden

A zoo on the lush Yagiyama plateau. In the park, there are many different types of creatures, such as large animal ponies, Japanese wild boars, porcupines, rabbits and other animals, as well as birds such as chilly flamingos and ducks, as well as reptiles. A park spread over Daisho Mountain at an altitude of 112m. The town of Chikuho can be seen from the top. It was built in the late Meiji 30 s as the main residence of Ito Denemon, who was called the "coal mine king of Chikuho". It is a modern Japanese-style building that was added to the building during the Taisho period and early Showa period, and is also the place of Yukari where the poet Yanagihara Shiren spent about ten years as the wife of Denemon. Delicate and graceful decorations can be seen throughout the Japanese-Western-style harmonious mansion, which can be enjoyed along with a vast excursion garden with ponds. The building is designated as a National Designated Important Cultural Property, and the garden is designated as a national famous. You can also see the events of "Izuka chicks festival" and "Dango no Kajaku", which are the main venues.
