Suwa Nose Island

The largest island in the Tokara archipelago by both area and population. Many public facilities are located and play a central role in the village of Jujima. In the northern part of the island, there is Mitake (979m), the highest peak of the Tokara Islands, and you can enjoy climbing under the name of "Tokara Fuji". At the foot of Mitake, there is the Nakanoshima Observatory, which is one of the largest in Kyushu, with a 60cm reflecting telescope, and the Tokarama Ranch, where Tokarama, a natural monument in Kagoshima, grazed, are gaining popularity. The history, history, and culture of the Tokara Islands can be seen at a glance. Located in the most northern part of the Tokara archipelago, the gateway to Jujima village, also known as a big-game fishing mecca. It has a maedake (628m) almost in the center of the island, with a settlement on a gentle slope on the north side. A purebred Japanese beef, a wild cow, which is also rare worldwide, can be found in the primeval forest deep inside the island. In addition, Tamoto Yuri, which is said to be native only to this island, is a natural monument of the prefecture. Yokodake (501m), which is located slightly west of Maedake, has a paved road that extends to Shankō, giving a clear view. Seramma Onsen (200 yen for bathing) on the island can enjoy hot water in a wild atmosphere surrounded by forest.
