Amami Oshima World Heritage Center

An Italian restaurant and shop overlooking the sea of Amami. The restaurant uses homemade salt and brown sugar in its dishes. It offers pizzas baked in an Italian stone oven topped with Kagoshima-produced aonori and fresh mozuku, as well as pasta rich in the umami of Amami seafood. In the shop, you can purchase gourmet souvenirs unique to Amami Oshima, such as confitures made from island fruits like tankan and plum, as well as sweets like Amami brown sugar chocolate and Amami brown sugar donuts, all utilizing homemade salt and brown sugar.

A long-established hub product established in 1948. In the shop, we sell hub products from 286 yen and hub powder from 30g2700 yen. The specialty is "Hub and Aima Show", which is performed by the store manager Hara himself, three times a day at 11 o'clock, 14 o'clock and 16 o'clock, is 800 yen (reservation required). After giving a commentary on the type and ecology of the hub, with jokes unique to the store manager, the demonstration of hub catching. In a dark place like the night, you can see the great performance of Mr. Hara dressed as he went out to catch the hub.

They offer canoe touring in the mangrove primeval forest for 1700 yen, sightseeing boat rides for 2300 yen, and consultations for various marine activities. Additionally, a popular night tour (wildlife observation) lasts about 2 hours for 7000 yen, and for ages 6-12, it's 4000 yen. There are also mangrove walking paths and a dining place called Mangrove Chaya.
