Taketomi Island (Traditional Buildings Preservation District)

Okinawa's largest river with a total length of 18km and 11 tributaries. The basin is overgrown with mangroves such as Ohirgi and Mehirgi. To enjoy such a tour of the Urauchi River basin, the Urauchi River tour boat is recommended. Ships sailing from the Uranai Bridge tour about 8km to Warship Iwa. From there you can land and trek into the mountains. It takes about 30 minutes to walk through the tree-filled jungle and get to the observation deck where you can see the waterfall of Mariyudu, which is also selected as one of the 100 waterfalls in Japan. Although the head is not large at about 16m, the flow of water is beautiful, like the flow of white thread. After 15 minutes from the observation deck, you will arrive at the waterfall of Campilay, where the legend that the gods sat down and created the island. The waterfall is divine with a gentle step.

A stepped waterfall that is about a 5-minute walk upstream from the Mariyudu waterfall and has a number of small heads that stretch over about 200m. Cambilee means "the seat of God", and the legend remains that the gods of 15 places on the island gathered here to discuss the creation of the island, and it is still considered the first-class holy place in Iriomote Island. The waterfall has a round puddle called a pothole where pebbles cut the river bottom due to the water flow, and aquatic creatures such as yago and prawns inhabit.

When you cross the back mountains of the Funabuki settlement in about 10 minutes, a breathtakingly beautiful beach of Ida appears. From the white sand beach, the sea of calm and remote coral reefs continues, and you can enjoy colorful tropical fish and corals by snorkeling. There are no facilities such as showers and toilets.
