The 37th National Fireworks Festival

One of the three major festivals in Kyushu, the gorgeous Shinko procession, which has a history of more than 380 years, walks about 6km from the central town of Yatsushiro to the Yatsushiro Shrine. The procession features as many as 40 offerings, including the glittering "kasanshoku" and the popular "kame-snake [kida]", which is familiar with the nickname of "turtle". A powerful lion dance and turtle snake performance performed at Tozaki Kawara, and a place to pursue horses. On the night of the 22nd, "Oyao [Goya]" will be held in the city center as the eve festival, and there will be various events such as exhibitions of gifts. The Ginger Harvest Festival, a specialty of the town of Tōyō, which began in 1975. In addition to ginger, the company will sell produce and processed products representing Yatsushiro. At the venue, there are plenty of events such as experience riding the Segway and catching Yamame. Nearby are the hot spring center "Baburagi" and "Ishibashi Park", which can be enjoyed by children and adults.

One big summer festival in Yatsushiro City, which is attended by about 4000 people. In 2024, in addition to the main event "Sou Odori", it is an event that can be enjoyed by children and adults, such as "Adult Mikoshi" and "Throoboku Tournament", and a night market is also held at Honmachi Arcade, smiling and energetic from Yatsushiro to send out.
