Kanuma Autumn Festival
An example festival of the Imamiya Shrine, which continues from the Edo period, with more than 20 stalls decorated with gorgeous sculptures. The sculpture stall is based on the craftsmanship of the Nikkō Tōshō-gū, and is so good in artistry that it is also said to be "moving Yangmyon". The highlight is the competition performance of Taiko, known as "bashing", in which multiple sculpture stalls show each other facing each other at an intersection. It is listed as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Site as a "street-food event at the Kanuma Imamiya Shrine Festival". Image courtesy: Kanuma City Tourism Exchange Division
