
First sunrise [Kiyomizu-ji Temple (Kiyomizu-yama)]
The ancient temple of the Hichiren sect, which stands near the summit of the Mount Kiyomizu. Nichiren Saint entered this mountain at the age of 12. It is known as a temple that returned here again after a tour of the countries, and began proselytizing for the first time in Jianjang 5 years (1253), chanting "Nan Myo-ho Ran Hwa Sutra". Surrounded by large trees, the precinct is vast, and is lined with temples such as Odō, Hon-in, Shukubo, Kannondo, and Kairoudo, and there are many old sites such as Kiyosumi's millennial cedar (natural monument), a star well, and a hair mound. It is a spot where you can worship the first sunrise, and it is also the birthplace of the polar vacuum hand. Treasure Hall needs to be booked.
