RED CHILI

A specialty taco shop located in the historical passage square (Retro Square) adjacent to the roadside station, Kuji. It is reputed that the handmade dough made from a blend of southern wheat from Iwate Prefecture is soft and delicious. Popular are herbal chicken tacos, diver yakisoba tacos, and taco rice with miscellaneous kernels. A sticky donut made of silk tofu and white egg flour is also recommended.

Amber Forest Restaurant Kunnoko

A restaurant that stands on the grounds of the Kuji Amber Museum, where you can enjoy a lunch of Kuji's seasonal ingredients, including meat and fish dishes, and have a good time in an amber-encrusted restaurant.

White Forest Restaurant

A restaurant at the entrance of the Hiraniwa Kogen in the vast white birch forest. You can enjoy steaks from Yamagata-cho, as well as hamburgers, beef bowls and yakiniku. We also recommend "Mame-bu", a local dish, and hand-hit 10 soba noodles made with local buckwheat flour.

Omiya

The popularity is "Kaishitadon", which is made with plenty of fresh fish and shellfish, at 2200 yen, and "Raw Uni-don" at 3630 yen. There are also many other menus, including local dishes and set-up meals. There is drink bar service for meals. It stands along National Route 45 and is easily accessible by car.

Sushi place

A locally favored shop that serves nigiri and chirashi sushi at a reasonable price while sticking to Kuji's local fish. If you visit here, you will definitely want to ask for special sushi, which includes sea urchin, salmon roe, scallops, abalone, etc. It is a clean and open store, and it is an atmosphere that even female customers can enjoy.

Gebi Rest House

At the rest house near the boat departure and arrival hall, you can enjoy a clear stream bento 1000 yen (with tax) and a yagebibi taste bento 1500 yen (with tax) that you can enjoy in the boat, all of which require advance reservations.

Izakaya

It has been renovated for over 100 years. Fresh fish and shellfish from Sanriku, especially oyster dishes from Karakuwa-cho, Kesennuma, Miyagi Prefecture, are popular. An izakaya that handles local sake and ingredients from Iwate Prefecture.

Basie

Jazz tea has been visited by jazz fans from all over the country for 50 years. There is a reputation for the sound of records. Coffee 1000 yen and others.

Kuramoto Restaurant

Kuramoto's kamba, a restaurant of local cuisine converted from a washing place. The rice cakes, which have been served in the festive table since the time of the feudal clan, are a food culture unique to Ichinoseki. There are four types of bite-sized mochi, such as an bean, and a sticky meal with zoni and a sweet meal. In addition to one of the name sake sake, there are also eight types of all-malt beer Iwate Kura beer that uses only hops and malt. Sansaikan Fujisei

In a calm shop of Wa Modern, you can taste local dishes such as rice cakes and seasonal Japanese food. One-bite rice cakes with eight flavors such as sakes and walnuts are served at 1750 yen with one-bite rice cakes, and one-day meal at a monthly lunch at 1980 yen. The finest locally produced glutinous rice "Kogane mochi" and the mochi made by water only are characterized by their unique firmness and elasticity.
