Watakuyama Sake Brewery

Hwa of Miyao Co., Ltd.

It sticks to fertilizer-free, pesticide-free, compost-free domestic rice. The raw material is Hinohikari from Kumamoto Prefecture. Shimoji Island Airport

Makiyama Observation Deck

An observation deck provided on the highest ground of Irabu Island. The building follows the appearance of a hawk-based migratory bird, Sashiba, whose wings are spread out, that nearly 50,000 birds fly to Irabu Island every October, and can also be seen from a ship connecting the port of Hirara and the port of Sarahama. From the observation deck, you can see the beautiful view of Miyako Island, Kima Island, and Ikeyama Island. He said that if the weather is good, you can also see the remote Ishigaki Island in the opposite direction of Miyako.

Belt rock

A giant rock located 800m south of the street pond. During the great earthquake of Meiwa 8 (1771), a huge tsunami of 85m high struck the Miyako Islands, and this rock was washed up from the sea floor. It is about 13m high, around 60m around and has a total weight of tens of tons, and is amazed by the destructive power of the tsunami that lifted the huge rock.
