Peace Prayer Park

It was established as a peace prayer park in Mabuni, Itoman, the site of the end of the Okinawa War, and serves as a base for transmitting wishes for permanent peace. In the garden, there are many places to inscribe in the heart, such as the Okinawa Prefectural Peace Prayer Museum, the cornerstone of peace [Ishiji], the Okinawa Peace Prayer Hall, the National Okinawa War Veterans Cemetery and the memorial towers of each prefecture. There is a Wi-Fi free spot at the park office. 100 yen (Saturday, Sunday, and public holidays) for each of the in-park EV buses.

Around Mabuni Hill

Inside the Peace Prayer Park. A number of cenotapes line the area around Mabuni Hill, which became the last battleground of the Battle of Okinawa, so as not to forget its times of tragedy and terror. On the hill, there are monuments to the National Okinawa War Veterans Cemetery, which enshrined the remains of the war dead that had been enshrined in various places, and memorial towers of each prefecture. There stands a statue of three boys, built with the thoughts of peace, friendship, and sibling love. Right beside it is the Okinawa Normal Kenjino Tower. The men's section of the Okinawa Normal School, 289, who were killed in the war on Okinawa, and 17 of the head of the school and other staff members are enshrined. The daimeito stand on the 32nd Army Commander Lieutenant General Mitsuru Ushijima and the Chief of the Military Staff, Lieutenant General Chung Isamu, on top of the 32nd Army Command bunker that they had been muffled until the end of it.

The cornerstone of peace

Inscriptions located inside the Peace Prayer Park. It marked the 50th anniversary of the end of the Pacific War and the Battle of Okinawa in 1995 with the name of all the Okinawan victims. The inscription spreads in a fan shape, centered on a fire taken at Aka-jima, Zama-mi-mura, the first US military landing site in the Battle of Okinawa, and a "Peace Fire" between Hiroshima City's "Light of Peace" and Nagasaki City's "Oath Fire". The main garden road extends toward sunrise on the day of memorial service on June 23, representing the path to peace.

Himayuri Tower, Himayuri Peace Prayer Museum

"Himayuri no Pagoda" is a memorial for the Himayuri students who died in the Battle of Okinawa. It was built beside the Ihara Third Surgical Bunker, where a number of students died due to a U.S. military attack. The Himeyuri Peace Prayer Museum is a museum that conveys the experience of the Himeyuri school in the Battle of Okinawa. You can learn about the battlefield and learn about war and peace through footage of survivors, hand-in-hand and full-size models of the bunker.

Masahiro Awamori Gallery

In 1883, the company founded Masahiro Sake Brewery is a long-established store known for its Awamori Masahiro. The facility attached to that Nishizaki plant is here. You can have a tasting of Awamori old sake and moromi vinegar at a tasting and sales place where you will be guided after the factory tour. There are many limited products that can only be obtained here. There are also gifts for those whose name is "Masahiro-san". On the second floor, the Awamori Materials Museum preserves a number of phantom famous sake, and introduces the full extent of Awamori through the history of Awamori, commentary on the process of making, and other materials related to Awamori-related historical materials such as old-time manufacturing tools.

Ryukyu Glass Village

The Ryukyu Glass Village is a collection of Ryukyu Glass, which is now a representative craft of Okinawa, with its vivid colors and tasteful texture. There are shops and restaurants in the building, which is covered with glass caretteers, and they are lined with colorful Ryukyu glass by artisans. We also hold a glass cup production experience class, and I'm happy to be able to make my own original work. Acceptable on the day with no reservation required. Rates from 2420 yen (separate shipping) and about 5 minutes of work time.

約1600坪もの敷地内に、トーシー墓(当世墓)と4つのシルシラシ墓がある沖縄県最大級の共同墓。「門中」とは父系の血縁集団のことで、2つの門中の子孫は現在約5000人とも言われている。

White silver hall

ハーレーや大綱引などの祭祀が執り行われる拝所。お堂の中には自然の石筍が祀られている。「意地ぬ出じらぁ手引き 手ぬ出じらぁ意地引き(腹が立ったら手を出さないようにし、手が出そうになったら心を鎮めなさい)」という黄金言葉(格言)の舞台としても有名。

Cape Kiya

沖縄本島最南端に位置し、東シナ海と太平洋を分けている。断崖の上には、灯台と展望台が立ち、見下ろすと青々とした大海原が広がる。岬の先端には昭和44年(1969)に建立された「平和の塔」が静かに立っている。近くには国指定史跡の具志川城跡があり、発掘調査と保存修理が行われている。
