秋になると境内に約2500株の萩が花をつける。弘法大師が大同2年(807)に開基したと伝わり、宝物館には太師筆という急就章[きゅうしゅうしょう](重要文化財)をはじめ数々の寺宝を収蔵。毎年5月に門前市が、9月に萩まつりが開かれ多くの参詣者で賑わう。

大宝3年(703)創建。琴を神宝とし技芸を司る神様。山中復の「木之鳥居」は、源義経が屋島合戦の後、平家追討を祈願し奉納したと伝わる。

A long-established company founded in the 22nd stage of the stone steps in the year of the Meiji 42 (1909).
