Bookshop

It is a building of a merchant house that has been running a generation brewing business, with the lower side covered with a gable-built upper side showing the shape of an old Udatsu from the Edo period, which conveys the shape of the merchant house at that time. National Registered Tangible Cultural Property. On the second floor, the furnishings of the weaving bookshop are always on display.

Natsuko Inaka City (Kansai Wide Area Union)

A log house-style direct sale shop at the Natsuko Dam rest area. On the first floor, there are vegetables and fruits, as well as products made from local materials such as tofu, dumpling, kinako, and hatai flour. At the cafe corner on the second floor, you can taste udon noodles, soba noodles, coffee, and a special seasonal menu.

Local sake such as "Udatsu no Otakumi Waki-cho" and "Udatsu no Ataru Sake" 720 milliliters 870 yen are popular among the souvenirs. Local sweets such as the festive confection "Azuki-yaki" are also sold.

Awa Odori Bamboo Doll's Village

Awa Odori bamboo dolls using local bamboo (from 1400yen to 1400yen) and Hon Soot bamboo handmade chopsticks 3500 yen are popular. You can also experience bamboo doll making in the hearth of a calm atmosphere 1500 yen (summary 30 minutes, reservation required).

LAND Udatsu

It is attached to the site of the landing site of the old Yoshinogawa River. There are also sightseeing spots around the area, such as the line of Akarumachi in Wakimachi Udatsu, making it a retro emotional area. The specialty mimakarakato and yakiniku sauce are popular in the concession stands.

Wakimachi Submersible Bridge

The bridge, which is only 1-2m above the water, is a mechanism for diving into the water when the water rises. It is also known as a place of sunset, and the scenery where the Ayu fishing boats come and go is a nostalgia.

Wakimachi Theatre (Odeonza)

脇町劇場は、昭和9年(1934)に芝居小屋としてオープン。戦後は映画館となり、歌謡ショーなども開かれた。脇町が松竹映画『虹をつかむ男』のロケ地となった際、オデオン座として登場し、一躍脚光を浴びた。内部は往時の芝居小屋が再現され、回り舞台や花道、大向[おおむこう]、奈落などが設けられている。

De Leike dam

明治政府の御雇、オランダ人治水技師デ・レイケによる堰堤。春には1万5000本のチューリップが咲き誇る。

Former Nagaoka House Housing

脇町のうだつの町並みから歩いて15分ほどの高台にある茅葺屋根の古民家。享保20年(1735)に建築された民家を移築し、歴史民俗資料として公開。今までに4回の修理・改造が行われたが、木材などは建築当時のものが残っている。江戸時代中期のこの地域の典型的な山村農家建築で、国の重要文化財。
