Hofu City Youth Science Museum Solal

Permanent experience exhibits using information about the sun, information about living things in the Sawami River basin, illusion and light, are lined up to allow you to learn science in a fun way. Mr. Mohri Garden

In 1916, the gardens and mansions of the former Chōshō feudal lord built by collecting the best of the architectural techniques of the time. It is a vast mansion with a garden of about 84,000 square meters and a building of 4000 square meters. The garden (Meishatsu) is a pond-spring-bound garden with stones, meijō, and azuma-ya around the gourd pond. The residence is a shōen-style building of Sōhiki and is an important cultural property. The Mohri Museum in one corner contains about 20,000 items of cultural property, including four national treasures, seven items, including the Sesshu Bumu, "Paper Book Sumi, Awasai Shiki Sansui," and "Kokin Wakashu No. 8", and about 8600 items of nine important cultural property.

Suo Government Office Site

The government office is the government office placed by the ancient Ritsuryo nation in a country. Although it disappeared with the decline of the Ritsuryo system, the government office of Suo Province, which became a building charge state for the reconstruction of Tōdaiji Temple in the early Kamakura period, is a rare example of which remains have been left to the present day. The sprawling site is designated a National Historic Site, and a stone monument stands in one corner.

Hofu Tenma Palace

It is the first Tenma Palace in Japan that was founded in 4th year of Enki (904), when Doshin was stopped on his way from Kyoto to Dazaifu. The present shrine was rebuilt in 1963, when the ornate rhomerun of Zhu Mei rises on a high ground. The precincts are known as plum attractions, and the cherry blossoms at Tenjinyama are also beautiful in April. At the tea room Yoshimatsu-an [Hoshoan] on the way to the approach, you can take a break in matcha by paying a viewing fee. Suo Kokubunji Temple

Tenpō 13 (741), one of the Kokubunji temples placed throughout the country by Emperor Shōmu's royal service. Kokubunji is also rare in the whole country where the Kindou and other fairy tales stand almost exactly as they were at the beginning of the founding, and also maintain the temple area. The two-tiered Irimoya-zukuri, Shichimama-no-no-Kindō (Important Cultural Property), was rebuilt by Shigetoshi Mohri. Niongmen is a donation of Mohri Teruyuan. More than 50 statues of Buddha, including the sitting statue of Yakushi Nyorai (Important Cultural Property), the statue of Nikko/Gekko Bodhisattva (Important Cultural Property), and the statue of Shitenno (Important Cultural Property), can be seen in the temple.

Amida Temple

It was founded by a monk, Shigegen [Chōgen], who served as the Great Kanjin of the Reconstruction of Tōdai-ji Temple in Nara, in the first year of Bunji 3 (1187). Go up the stone steps through the thatched Nioh Gate, where the statue of the Kumgang (Important Cultural Property) stands, and the large precinct is lined with the main hall built by Mohri Hiromasa and the Kaesan-dou. The treasure house displays valuable cultural objects, such as the 3m-high iron treasure tower (national treasure), which is made of the affairs of the reconstruction of Tōdaiji temple on a pedestal that was placed by Shigen, and the wooden statue of Shigen (Important Cultural Property). About 80 species and 4000 strains of hydrangeas compete in bloom in June.

Mount Ohira

Hofu City's highest peak (631m) Park maintained at the summit of Mount Ohira. Below, you can see the islands of the Hofu Plain and the Seto Inland Sea, as well as the Kunitachi Peninsula of Kyushu and Cape Sada Shikoku on a good day. Marble Crafts

The eye-catching marble works at a souvenir shop on the way to Akiyoshi-dong from the Akiyoshidai Tourism Exchange Center. Marble is a piece of limestone melted by geothermal heat and recrystallized.
