The first year of Sadaharu (1363) was the predecessor of Sokanji (Suukanji) in Genken. Due to the decline and the burning of Dou during the Warring States period, Masuda Munekane [Masuda Munekane] merged with Iko-ji. Sōmon is a transfer of the former major gate of Masuda Castle (Nanao Castle). In the back of the main hall, there is a garden (historic site, Meishatsu) that was built by Sesshu, the fifth generation resident, during the years of civilization (1469-86). It is a samurai-style garden with a kamejima floating on a pond in the shape of a crane, and the linear composition of azaleas and stone-sets arranged on the slopes of Hai-yama is reminiscent of Sesshu's ink painting. In spring, weeping cherry blossoms are beautiful.
