Kenmei Temple

Kenmeji Temple is an ancient temple of the Soto sect, but is famous for being the birthplace of Nozawa Nana. In the Edo period, the eighth-generation resident, Koten Enzui, brought back a turnip seed during a Kyoto trip and spread it. The stems and leaves are well stretched because it is a high-cold area at an altitude of 600m, it has grown into a distinctive Japanese-style dish [Kabuna]. This is said to be the beginning of Nozawa Nana. A monument to the birthplace of Nosawana stands in a corner of the precinct. In addition, nozawa vegetables are cultivated in the fields next to the precincts, and from late April to early May, yellow rape flowers bloom all over.

Tangram Ski Circus

The Tangram Ski Circus, which stretches on the northern slopes of Mount Madagao, is a popular ski resort for families, where the slopes and the hotel are united. It is full of fun other than skiing, such as a fulfilling kids park and a snowmobile that you can ride from 5 years old. Kids school and nursery are also substantial. It is also nice to be able to slide with a common ticket with the Madarao Kogen Ski Area. There are plenty of kids events.

Ma Song Hot Springs

A popular hot spring facility is an open-air bath where you can taste a new experience as if you are immersed in a majestic scenery. You can overlook the mountains of Kita Shiga and Kishimadaira at the center of Mount Kosha, and you can truly feel the feeling of liberation of being naked and soaked in hot water. Depending on the weather, you can see far to the Northern Alps. The inner bath is a chic atmosphere with a cypress used on the wall and the bath. It was renewed in April of 2024, and a new observation terrace and powder room were built. In addition, a free bastaol face towel is now attached, allowing you to enjoy empty views and open-air.

God Of Romance Snow Resort

A ski area spread on the northern slope of Mount Kosha at an altitude of 1352m. The slopes spread out in a fan shape from the middle, and have a simple layout with a steep slope at the top and a loose slope at the bottom. Since all courses are wide, you can enjoy the practice of beginners and the run with the family together with peace of mind. In addition, there is a children's square with a 50m moving sidewalk and an 800m sleigh course, which can be enjoyed by families. Family tickets are good if you have children.

Road Station FARMUS Kishidaira

A roadside station along Route 403 in Kishimahira Village with a rural landscape. "Meisui Crater Soba" of the soba restaurant "Mura" is a proud dish. It uses buckwheat flour from Kishima-Hiramura, local clean water, and the precious Yuyama crater [Oyamabokuchi], which is used only in the Hokushin region for a connection. Cafe Lève offers gelato and drinks using village milk, and the village-boasted rice "The Taiko of the Village" at the Farm and Farm Sales Office. In addition, space for children to play and wooden play equipment are installed in the hall and on the lawn square. Dog runs are available only for small dogs.

Madarao Kogen Ski Area

A snow resort located on the prefectural border between Iiyama City, Nagano Prefecture and Myoko City, Niigata Prefecture. A well-balanced course of about 30 courses has been laid out from just under the peak of Mount Madarao at an altitude of 1382m, with a maximum run distance of 2500m. Snow is natural snow powder snow. Madarao Kogen Picture Book Museum

The museum is marked by a fairy-tale building that stands on a plateau. Valuable original drawings of European and American writers are displayed in the hall, and about 150 picture books from Japan and abroad are lined up. It is also nice to receive the service of green tea with the scent of apple juice or elderflower (western chicken and flower), tea with the scent of wild strawberry, and hot coffee after viewing. There are also sales of picture books from 1000 yen and postcards from 150 yen. There are objects casually, inviting the viewer to the world of dreams. Pets can enter the building.

Shin-Etsu Trail

Long Trail with a total length of 110km, connecting the mountain and the village straddling the prefectural border between Nagano and Niigata. You can enjoy a walking trip while feeling the living, culture and history of people rooted in the area, as well as the diverse nature such as beautiful beech forests and marshes. Registration guide (paid, inquiry required) is firmly supported even for beginners. There are seven tent sites along the line, and it is also possible to cross-track in tents.
