Kenmei Temple

Kenmeji Temple is an ancient temple of the Soto sect, but is famous for being the birthplace of Nozawa Nana. In the Edo period, the eighth-generation resident, Koten Enzui, brought back a turnip seed during a Kyoto trip and spread it. The stems and leaves are well stretched because it is a high-cold area at an altitude of 600m, it has grown into a distinctive Japanese-style dish [Kabuna]. This is said to be the beginning of Nozawa Nana. A monument to the birthplace of Nosawana stands in a corner of the precinct. In addition, nozawa vegetables are cultivated in the fields next to the precincts, and from late April to early May, yellow rape flowers bloom all over.
