Akabane Coast on Joke Island

On the south side of Joke Island, the coast followed by Araiso and escarpment facing the Pacific Ocean. The coast, which fills the beach with fine black gravel, has a sea cliff about 30m high behind it, and because of its dynamic coastal landscape, it is often used for drama and historical drama locations. From November to April, the sea urchin and the sea urchin fly, and it is also designated as a natural monument in Kanagawa Prefecture as a habitat for the sea urchin.
