Okutama Old Road

From Okutama Station to Lake Okutama, a promenade that follows the former Ome Kaido. After leaving the station, the entrance is to the Hikawa Nursery Station across the Hikawa Bridge. From the place of the giant tree of Saikachi, enter the pavement road and proceed while looking at the Tama River. Immotionable Upper Falls, past the Shirabeard Shrine, and then to the Shidakura Bridge of the Suspension Bridge. After walking along a very old-fashioned street and up-and-down through the Dōsho Suspension Bridge, Lake Okutama will soon see the end. The appearance of the old private houses and shrines and temples can be seen. Course: Okutama Station → 10 minutes → Mukasimichi Entrance → 40 minutes → Hishimura Bridge → 25 minutes → Shirabeard Shrine → 35 minutes → Shidakura Bridge → 30 minutes → Suspension bridge on the roadside → 1 hour → Asama Shrine → 40 minutes → Bus Stop: Lake Okutama. Four hours to take.

Ice River Campground

A campsite where you can enjoy the nature of Okutama while being accessed in a 7-minute walk from the station. You can enjoy barbecue and river play on the riverbank facing the Tama River.

American Camp Village

A campsite with various types of log houses and cabins, so you can camp empty-handed as there is plenty of rental equipment, and the Athletic Mountain is popular for both adults and children.

Forest of Okutama Tomin (Experience Forest)

In addition to mountaineering and forestry experiences conducted throughout the year, we hold events where you can experience the life culture of the mountain village, such as wasabi cultivation and mountain stream fishing, mainly at the Tochiyori Mori House, a base facility located at 650m altitude. All events involve accommodation, from 10,000 yen for 4 meals per night. It can also be used for individual and group use, training camp, training, etc.

Okutama Visitor Center

You can easily collect information about nature and mountaineering in Okutama. You can introduce the flora and fauna of Okutama in exhibits and printed materials, you can also read materials and books. You can also check information about the surrounding hiking trails at the counter. Guide walk place summary 30 minutes.

Moegi Bridge

There is a suspension bridge when you enter the path by relying on the sign of "Moegi no Yu", which is held up on the main street of the settlement of Nagahata; across here to the onsen.

Babble Village Museum

Standing at the end of the Mitake Gorge promenade, a private house-style museum, featuring paintings and artifacts related to Okutama, and a hearth and giant objects of natural stone inside the museum, too. It takes 30 minutes.

Kiyomi Waterfall

The path of the village is a paved road, but the rustic style seems to be Okutama. People who go to Reizan and Mitake Sanpai seem to have cleansed themselves with this waterfall.

Goumei Garden

A shop specializing in Japanese sweets using plums. The flavor-rich plum sweets are popular, including eight plum plum-shaped kōmei buns made of stasella wrapped in castella, and all of them are perfect for Umego souvenirs. We also recommend 950 yen for Ome Kuzukiri, which can only be tasted here as a tea menu, and 380 yen for Ome soft ice cream using Aome syrup unique to the local area. There is also a tea room (weekdays to 16:30) where you can also enjoy meals for 1630 yen.
