Takagi-ya long-established

The shop is famous as a model of the dango shop that appears in "The Man is Hard". The specialty grass dango (200 yen per bottle) is served with special rice and mugwort. There are three types: baked chicken with sweet and spicy sauce (200 yen per bottle), and soy sauce flavored with seaweed (200 yen per bottle). Of course you can eat in the store.

JA Tokyo Smile Katsushika Genki Vegetables Direct Sales Office

A direct sales shop that is so popular that a line can be made before the store opens. Fresh vegetables in season, such as freshly harvested tomatoes, komatsuna, edamame, cabbage, potatoes and onions, are sold. A picture of the producer's face is displayed in the store, and you can buy vegetables with peace of mind. Depending on the season, they also line up with arkasei (raw) and the phantom Kameido radish.

Passing the arrow

It is located on the riverbed of the Edogawa River, which flows through the back of Taishakuten, and is familiar from the novel "The Tomb of the Wild Chrysanthemum" and song songs. Since being used for villagers going to the opposite bank in Kanei 8 (1631), it has been familiar as a foot of common people to this day. It is a boat trip of only 5 minutes each way, but you can enjoy a quiet and pleasant moment. The opposite bank was the setting for "The Tomb of the Wild Chrysanthemum". It is a 20-minute walk to Saiken-ji Temple, where there is a monument to the tomb of Nogiku. There is also a monument at the "Nōgiku no Komichi" along the way, which provides a rural landscape that extends the old days.

Caricature Coin Laundry

The caricature that fills the walls and ceiling is the work of Takeshi Kanno, the owner of the laundry. It is born out of the thought of not boring waiting time. Of course, Tora-san is full of things.

Katsushika Shibamata Memorial Hall

A memorial hall attached to the Katsushika District Tourism and Cultural Center within Shibamata Park. Introduce the world of Tora-san by various corners. A set of "Kurumaya" used for actual shooting was relocated from the Ofuna studio to recreate the shooting landscape, as well as the material used in the film. It takes 30 minutes. Reopening in April 2019, new cafe was established.

Taishakuten approach

A 200-meter-long street that runs from Shibamata Station on the Keisei-Kanamachi Line to Teishakuten. On both sides of the approach, there are shops that continue from the Edo period, such as the dango shop that was the model for the movie "Man is Hard", as well as a senbei shop, handmade candy, and a river fish restaurant, and you can enjoy the style of Monzen-cho. In 2018, Shibamata, including this Taishakuten approach, was selected as an important cultural landscape of the country and was recognized as a representative landscape of Japan.

Futen's tiger statue, sakura statue to see off

In front of Keisei-Shibamata Station, you will be greeted by a statue of "Futen no Tora", which is looking back on his hometown of Shibamata before Tora-san's departure, and a statue of "Sending Sakura", which stands ahead of Tora-san's gaze.

Shikkei-ji (Shibamata Taishakuten)

Taishakuten, which can be said to be the face of Shibamata, is an ancient temple of the Nichinen sect, and was founded during the Kanei Year (1624-44). He became famous in the movie series "Man is Hard". Also known as the Temple of Sculpture, the carvings carved across the entire wall of the Taishaku-do, such as the "Hōhō-Kōjō-jō-jō-jō-jō-jō-jō-jō-jō-jō-jō-jō-jō-jō" and others have been published as sculpture galleries. Besides Itahon-son, which is said to have been carved by Nichiren Saint, there are many other places to see, such as the Sōshōdō, the bell tower, the Kaisan-dōdō, and the excursion-style garden "Suikeyeon-en". It is crowded with many worshipers on the six-year fair (Kōshin Day).

Kasai Shrine

A historic shrine founded in the late Heian period, in the second year of the New Year (1185), as a sōjen-shōnen for the entire area of the present-day Katsushika-ku, Edogawa-ku, and the surrounding area. At the precinct "Itsujima Shrine", a white snake "Tudori Snake-sama", which is said to listen to people's wishes as an angel of Benten-sama, is seated and can take advantage of the benefit of the invitation opening by stroking.

Liu Ji Chinese Food

A Chinese bread shop opened by the owner from Dalian, China, who wants people to know the taste of Chinese bread, which is not yet known in Japan. There are as many as 45 types of bread on a day from sweets to dietary.
