Maebashi City Akagi Boy Nature House

In addition to the Nordic walk experience, you can enjoy a variety of activities for the whole family, such as climbing trees with a dedicated rope, treeking to experience the life of trees, and night hiking to learn the life of animals at night.

Prefectural Akagi Park Visitor Center

Take the Kanetsu Kotsu bus to the prefectural Akagi Park Visitor Center. Direct buses run from JR Maebashi Station on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. On weekdays, we go from Maebashi Station to Fujimi Onsen and change to Akagiyama Visitor Center. The "one-day free ride ticket" 3000 yen, which is open between Fujimi Onsen and the visitor center.

Akagiyama General Tourist Information Center

Adjacent to the White Birch Ranch; there is a tea shop and a concession shop, and there is the White Birch Forest Literature Corner, which displays materials such as the history and literature of Mount Akagi, as well as people related to it.

Abyss

A small moor on Mount Akagi, about 0.8km around. It is located southeast of Onuma. A wooden path is maintained around the area, and you can enjoy a 30-minute hike. Various kinds of alpine plants bloom from the end of April to July, and the grass leaves are beautiful in autumn.

Mount Akagi

It is a compound volcano that counts as one of the Jomo Sanzan (Jomo is derived from the old national name of Gunma, "Jōenokuni") alongside Mount Haruna and Mount Myōyō. There are three lakes (Ōnuma, Konuma, and Kakumanchi) on the summit. In particular, the lake is a marsh, and it is famous for the growing azaleas and alpine plants. In addition, there are hiking trails, campsites and ski areas in the surrounding area, which can be enjoyed throughout the year. Access to Mt. Akagi may be by a direct bus from Maebashi Station to Mt. Akagi Visitor Center.

Akagi Onuma

A caldera lake formed by the accumulation of water between the central estuary hill of Mount Akagi and Sotoyama. Surrounded by primeval forest, there is a promenade on the shore of the lake, and you can enjoy a walk of 1 hour and 30 minutes per lap. On the island of Kotoniga, Akagi Shrine is located in the temple, and a monument to Naoya Shiga stands by the shrine (the Takuboku-Tori Bridge is currently closed to traffic due to aging). Boating and fishing can be enjoyed on the lake, and smelt fishing on ice in winter (take-away).

Fuji Fureai Hall at Fujimi Onsen

Located on the hillside of Mount Akagi, it is one of the facilities of Roadside Station Fujimi. From the outdoor bath, you can overlook the city area of the Kanto Plain. Hot springs with one of the largest salt content in the whole country are springing up. There is a restaurant in the hall that boasts dishes using local ingredients and is well received by the users.

World Dog Ranch

A dog community park with the theme of "petting people and dogs." on the vast site overlooking Mount Akagi, there are many famous dogs from all over the world. The largest Docklan cafe in Japan is in the park. At the contact walk corner, you can choose your favorite child and walk around the park. Pets are welcome, so you can enjoy the park even if you are not with Wan-chan.

Magi Park, Gunma

Riding experience at the facility where the Akagi National Athletic and Equestrian Games were held in 1983. In the visitor system, instructors from beginners to advanced students will teach to the level. Feel free to challenge. Popular pony pulling horse riding for children can be experienced from the age of 3 (400 yen per horse road, no reservation required).

Pottery Classes Cheongshan

You can enjoy pottery experience in the workshop of potter Kenji Nakajima. The experience is hand-rigging, and you can make two mugs or one vase from 1kg of clay. After firing, the work will be delivered (separate shipping charge). Firing by climbing kiln (separately at cost) with firewood is also possible. You can also stay for 3,000 yen per night.
