Tōshō-gū at Maebashi, which enshrines Tokugawa Ieyasu as a festival deity. In the first year of Kanei (1624), the then Matsudaira feudal lord founded in Echizen Katsuyama (Fukui Prefecture). During the mid-Edo period, he entered Maebashi Castle, but was damaged by the great flood of the Tonegawa River and took up residence in Kawagoe. What was built at that time was relocated to its current location in 1871 (Meiji 4), in conjunction with the Matsudaira family's Maebashi Kiki Castle. It is known for various benefits such as opening and eradication, prayer for safety, car purification, and academic fulfillment.
