Former Mikami House

At the time of the Russo-Japanese War, Jotaro Mikami, who served as a military doctor, made a hand-stitched Red Cross flag to save the lives of many soldiers, and was praised by the world. In memory of the feat, his birthplace is restored and exposed.

Buddha Pura

For about 2km, the coast is followed by white-green tuffs eroded by wind and rain and rough waves. It is named the Neck of Nyorai, the Five Hundred Arhats, the Thirteen Buddhas, and the Lotus Rock. You can also see from inside the high-speed boat from Aomori. In addition, there is a parking lot along National Route 338 between Sai and Wakinosawa, and you can get off to the coast in a 15-minute walk. The tourist boats are on reception at the Tsugaru Strait Cultural Museum Alsas.

Mutsu Bay Ferry

Mutsu Bay Ferry, which connects Wakinosawa Port on the Shimokita Peninsula and Kanita Port on the Tsugaru Peninsula. Curious dolphins sometimes run along with the ferry, so if you are lucky, you can watch dolphins. The period is mid-April-June.

Roadside Station Wakinosawa Refresh Center Go no Sato

The road station next to the Wild Monkey Park where you can tour the northern monkey, which is designated as a natural monument. The old-fashioned method is used to sell baked potatoes, which are still made, in stores. In addition, handmade miso by local elderly people is also recommended as a souvenir. There is also "Community Sento Wakinosawa Onsen" nearby, where you can heal your tired body.

Mutsu City Wakinosawa Wild Monkey Park

The Shimokita Peninsula is a habitat northern limit for wild Japanese macaques. It is also the northernmost distribution of monkeys in the world, and the Japanese macaque in Wakinosawa has become a natural monument of the country. In the garden, you can see about 50 people who live in near-wild conditions. Five groups inhabit the surrounding area.

Kawauchi River Valley Promenade

The Kawauchi River, which flows through the center of Kawauchi-cho, Mutsu City, is the most abundant river in the Shimokita Peninsula, and you can enjoy a variety of valley beauty such as water, water, and waterfalls. Along the mountain stream, a promenade continues along the mountain stream for a total length of 4.4km, and is dotted with highlights such as Takimodai, Yatsubashi, and Shimotokagafuchi. There are three bridges along the way, including the Hydrangea Bridge, which is a suspension bridge, and the Sekiray Bridge, where you can see the Otaki from the front, and there are also hiba-built rest areas.

Strait Isaribi Park

A park with an artificial pond adjacent to the Shimabas fishing port and where sea water flows in during high tide. A small shrine and torii stand in the center with a strange rock, Futami Rock, and a small shrine and torii dedicated to Ebisu-sama, who prays for maritime safety and great fishing. There is a monument to Yasushi Inoue, who stayed in the lower bath to write his novel Strait, and an observation deck overlooking Hokkaido on the opposite bank.

Railway Arch Bridge Memorial Road

The Ōma Railway, whose construction was suspended during World War II to become a phantom railway, is revived as a promenade with a total length of 268m. There is also an assuyu (conducted in late April-late October).
