Arc Hills Autumn Festival 2024

The area is rich in international colors with embassies in the surrounding area, but it is a festival where you can feel the heart and season of Japan. Kura no Machi Tochigi Beer Festival Autumn

A traditional German beer harvest festival is held in Tochigi, the birthplace of Yuzo Yamamoto, who translated "Take the sun to the heart", which is said to support the German heart. Under the autumn sky, you can enjoy the German beer and cuisine, and on stage, German folk music and musicians from Tochigi City will perform. Horo Festival

A ritual of entering the Ujiko against the Ujigami held at Furutani Hachiman Shrine. A "horo" is a piece made of 36 bamboo eggs with flowers made of light peach-colored paper, which are inserted into a back-carrying basket and decorated. Sagae Festival

A "Sagae Matsuri" with history and tradition is held as an example festival of the Sagae Hachiman-gū. Every year, mainly on September 15, a strict ritual at the Sagae Hachiman Palace Shrine, a brave event that is designated as an intangible folk property in Yamagata Prefecture, "Sagae Hachiman-gyo-gama", and a procession by the Sagae Hachiman-gu-gai Preservation Society "Nimachi Tour", where the procession is kneaded, there will be a tour of "Kuryu Taikocho", which will enliven the city with a small performance. On the 15th (Sunday) of the last day, the finale will be decorated by the "Shinkoshi no Rite", which boasts one of the largest sizes in Tohoku.

Hanamaki Festival

In addition to a dozen gorgeous floats and a large number of courageous kamikoshi reeling and milling around the town, there will also be deer dances and kagura-kongjitai dances, as well as Hanamaki Bayashi dances with elegant elegance. In 2015, it has achieved a world record of 114 units for "the number of kamkoshi shown in one venue".

Akayu Onsen Hometown Festival

A big event in the district. The hot spring town becomes a festival mood due to a competition by a man, Goddess Koko on the first day and a junior high school student, Motokoko Sanki, and a young lion inspired by a rampaging lion drum on the second day. The first day is between 18:00 and 20:30, and the second day is between 16:00 and 21:30.

Southern Kirita Kagura

Nambu Kiri-da Kagura is a kagura that has been held up for generations by the eldest son of Kiri-da district and represents Aomori. It is dedicated every year on September 15 at the Kirida-Hachiman Shrine. The representative performance is the Gongju Dance, which exorcizes Gohwa with a five-headed lion head, and is known as the Brilliant Dance.

Uenokoku Hachimatomiya Annual Festival, Watami Festival

It is a festival that continues from the middle of the Edo period, with the procession of the priests and the Shinkoshi milling around the town. The procession of the Imperial Court comes from the fact that the Matsumae clan paid homage to their ancestors, Kaminokuni, and allowed the samurai dress (kamishi) to residents who accompany them on foot at the time of the annual festival. In the shrine, Kagura dances (Matsumae Kagura group) are performed. On the first day, the afternoon "Mengarō", the evening festival (Kagura Mai) is held from the evening, and the regular festival (Kagura Mai and the mountain car only) is held from 10 o'clock on the second day. * In 2024, the procession of the priests and the Mikami-koshi procession will be canceled.

Iwamizawa Hundred Cakes Festival

The main part of the festival is a 2.2m diameter and 5.5 tons in diameter, and a 200kg in size. The "Yoitomake method" is used to lift a pestle with a pulley attached to a 10m high building and drop it at once from a height of about 5m. When lifting a pestle, the power of about 200 people, including visitors, is required, and the visitors can experience a large-scale rice cake with the “Hyakunchi Wakao”, which takes the sound on the top of the main building, and the visitors.
