The Chiaki Park was established as a park in the year of the Meiji 29 (1896) at the site of the residence of the 200,000-koku Satake clan of the Akita clan. During the cherry blossom season, about 650 cherry blossoms, mainly in Yoshino cherry blossoms, bloom.

During the Cherry Blossom Festival, cherry blossoms can be enjoyed day and night by lighting up, and on Saturday, April 19, the event will be held at the main venue at "Roadside Station Nakasen".

The Shiroyama Park and the Eai River embankment are famous for cherry blossoms, and the cherry blossom festival is held every year from early to late April. Light-ups and stage shows, plus the "Tohoku Horse Games" as the main event on the third Sunday in April. A time race that aims to compete for the power of the own horse and crosses obstacles in two places on a course with a total length of 120m, drawing a sledging with different loads for each class. There are also store openings on the day of the Games, and there are many people.

In the park, cherry blossoms such as the weeping cherry tree, the Somei cherry tree, the yaezakura, and the chiganzakura bloom, and there are a number of stands at the sight.

One of the best park golf courses in Japan is attached to the park, and at the foot there is Kagobo Onsen Sakuranoyu.

町の中央に位置する高水寺城跡にある紫波城山公園。かつては足利一族斯波氏の居城として栄えた。公園内には約1100本の桜が植えられ、公園へ続く遊歩道にできる桜のトンネルは格別だ。期間中は、たくさんの出店が立ち並ぶ。
