佐渡一の宮度津神社の例祭で、羽茂城主本間地頭の奉納に始まるといわれる伝統のやぶさめの神事（2人が御旅所を経由して、馬場で弓を射る神事）や、式典の中で稚児の舞がある。また、大獅子が厄祓いに家々を練り歩くさまがみられる。やぶさめ23日14時～。本州から佐渡島へは佐渡汽船のカーフェリーを利用のこと。新潟港からはジェット高速船の運航もある。直江津港からのカーフェリーは、運航日注意。
