Yawata Festival

A festival boasting more than 1000 years of tradition. Also known as the torch festival, the torches set up on the grounds make a brave fire pillar. Spring Festival of Shibata (Shibata Castle Park Cherry Blossom Festival)

The view of Shibata Castle and cherry blossoms is really spectacular. You can enjoy cherry blossoms along with the third floor and Tatsumi, which are arranged with three birds, which are not seen in the whole country. Bonbori is installed in the castle park, and it is recommended at night when the castle is lit up. There are many street stalls in the park, where you can enjoy local food and classic gourmet food. Hyuga medicine spring festival

Hyuga Yakushi, known since ancient times as the sacred mountain of Shugendo. In the fall of 2016, the new main hall was completed after the first major renovation in about 300 years. At this spring festival, the safety prayer curse "Kamiki Nobori", which is performed by the trainee before and after the training of Irimine, will be held. In addition, the statue of the Three Honson Yakushi Nyorai, an important cultural treasure of the country, was opened on this day, and it is filled with a large number of visitors every year.

Culture Ceremony

Princess Chōshō plays a sama who is led by a bodhisattva to the paradise of the earth; twenty-five bodhisattva crosses the Raikeibashi, which connects the Mandala-dōdō, which is considered to be the Western Pure Land, and the Shaba-dō of the modern world.

Kumano Nachi Taisha Sakura Flower Festival

It is held at Kumano Nachi Taisha Shrine where Yamazakura blooms. We offer cherry blossoms to God in front of the shrine and play kagura. An ancient-style Yuma festival in memory of the story of the emperor Hanayama (Kazanhoou) who, when he practiced near Nachi Falls, channelled the beauty of cherry blossoms into waka. Mountain King Festival
