Mochi Dango Village Honpo

A memorial hall showcasing the history of the Chikuho coalfield, which has supported Japan's modernization and industry. The building is home to the main building (Western-style architecture built as the Chikuho Coal & Mining Union Nogata Chamber in Meiji 43), an annex and a coal chemistry building, weighing two tons indoors, one of Japan's largest mass of coal, Meiji 40 (1907) it was imported from Germany around the time and exhibited the oldest oxygen respirator in Japan. On the outdoor display include the rescue training tunnel created between 1912 and 1922 in the year of Taisho 11 and the SL which was active in coal transportation. Take one hour. The former Nogata meeting hall and the mine shaft became a national historical site in 2018.

The museum was opened in 1992 by the late founder of Meijiya Industrial Co., Ltd. Kanya Tanio. In 2003, it was re-opened as the Nokata Tanio Museum of Art, receiving a donation from the bereaved family of the late Taniya Kaniya. The exhibition room is located in the main building and the new building, where works by writers with a connection to the city of Nogata are displayed. The exterior that left the exterior of the clinic built in the early Showa period is also retro and impressive. There is also a rest room and a tea room.

A quaint wooden, tiled one-story house nestled on a hill in Shinmachi, Nogata, which overlooks the Fukuchi [Fukuchi] mountain system. This building is a restored house built in 1898 by Santaro Hori, who worked hard to develop the coal mine. It consists of five spacious houses and one storehouse, and floors and balustrades show the gorgeous life of the coal mine when it flourished. The Japanese garden, which is planted with sazanka, satsuki, maple, etc., is also wonderful. It is designated as a modernized industrial heritage. You can drink 350 yen of matcha and coffee in the hall. Take 30 minutes.
