History Culture Unique Festival Culture and 60 thousand stones
This area has flourished as the border region between Owari and Mikawa provinces. In particular, Nishio Castle was one of the most important strongholds during the Sengoku period. The area was under the control of the Matsudaira clan (later the Tokugawa clan), the guardian of Mikawa Province, and prospered under the direct control of the Edo shogunate during the Edo period. There are also many unique festivals, such as the Nishio Gion Festival and the Mikawa Isshiki Grand Lantern Festival, which have continued for over 400 years. Nishio people are preserving their local traditional cultures and passing them on to the next generation.
Nishio City Historical Park
A historical park that conveys the prestige of the castle town of Rokkoku to the present day Nishio Castle, which was the castle of Nishio Domain Rokkoku in the Edo period, is said to be the beginning of Saijo Castle, which was built by the Ashikaga Yoshi in the early Kamakura period. The Nishio City Historical Park is a partially reconstructed and restored park. In the park, the Honmaru Ushitora (Honmaru Ushitora Yagura), the main gate of the Ninomaru (Chujakumon), the former Kanyai House and the camellia garden of the Kazukaya-style mansion, you can tour Sangkozhuang, which has a beautiful Jingfu garden. You can also drink matcha from Nishionana at the former Kōji residence. In the year of Reiwa 2, the Ninomaru Ushitora and the sandwall of the folding folding screen were completed. In addition, in one corner, there is the Nishio City Museum, where materials from the Nishio Castle period are displayed. * Free admission

Kira Uenosuke and Hohazoji Temple
Kira, who is said to have built a dike (golden dike) overnight to protect his fiefdom from flood damage, is praised by the people as a great prince. Its wooden structure is enshrined alongside the ancestor Yoshiyasu and the statue of Yoshiding in Mikage-do, Hozo-ji.
Antiquarian Book MuseumIwase Bunko
It is a museum of books that preserves and publishes more than 80,000 books of a wide range of fields and eras, from ancient books, including important cultural property, to modern practical books. It has a unique exhibition where you can learn about the long history and rich culture of Japanese books while experiencing it.
National Treasure Kinrenji Temple
It is reportedly one of the Mikawa Shichimido temples built by Minamoto no Yoritomo ordered by Mikawa Kunimori Adachi, the oldest wooden structure in the prefecture, and was designated as a national treasure in 1955.
