An example festival of the Toto Shrine, which is located near Tōmoto Falls, which is located at the Ou Yōgai River, a tributary of the Kaifu River. Tōjin Shrine is known as Shōken 19 (1591), and it enshrines the god of water with Tōmoto-taki as its sacred body. After being subjected to an exorcism at the Tōto Shrine, the Kamikoshi, also known as the "Rampage Kamikoshi", departs. By a bearer of a white costume who performed a misogyue at the waterfall every two hours from the previous day, the Kamikoshi ran down a steeply sloping 140-step stone steps to the Tōmoto-taki Shrine, whose shrine is Tōmoto-taki itself. Takiwatari, who prays for health, safety, and peace with a bearer and a shinkanshi enter the waterhole of the 58m-head waterfall, one of the nine-nine waterfalls, is truly brave and spectacular.

The Yasaka Shrine in the Shishikui area of Kaiyo Town, Tokushima Prefecture, is affectionately called "Shishikui Gion-san." The "Shishikui Gion Festival," a traditional event with over 1,000 years of history, takes place every year on July 16 and 17. On the first day's evening festival, there are night stalls, bamboo lights, and donated fireworks. Although about 400 fireworks launched from several locations along the Shishikui River is a small number, they are popular for evoking the summer atmosphere. On the second day of the main festival, the Gion Festival Grand Ritual is held, featuring Noh performances such as lion dances by children, mochi throwing, and the procession of large floats called Oyamaboko and Koyamaboko, along with a ship modeled after medieval warships parading through the town.
